Compliments of the new year dear friends, long time no bloging.
2017 was indeed a year packed full of all emotions and experiences, from being shown flames in my personal life to getting amazing opportunities and learning so much professionally. I can’t wait to see what 2018 has in store.
I hope it proves to be a great year for you too.
Moving swiftly along, so my son just came back from visiting my family back in KwaZulu Natal. He’s been a proper township boy for over a month now. I was hoping for him to come back having picked up more Zulu for his vocabulary but a mom can hope, right?
Because he’s been away, we didn’t spend Christmas together. I cannot be too confident about my food, but I definitely know he loves the energy around my lunch/dinner table. We’re both cut out from the same cloth when it comes to socializing.
Fast forward to today, he got back last night and school started today. Guess what he asks me as I fetch him from school? Mommy, can we have a Christmas party at home today? Came as a surprise of course, and I’m conflicted. He missed mommy’s always full with joyous friends and family Christmas lunch table, but it’s still a school night. So what do I do?
Secondly, we saved the Christmas crackers and the tree until he came home. So I should’ve anticipated a request along these lines.
so mommy being a sucker or being a great mommy, depends at what angle you look at it… We are having a Christmas dinner party!
He is helping me of course, my sous chef and all.
on the menu: 2 course meal- Mixed meat creamy lasagna for mains, Chocolate fondant for dessert.

Starter: Precious Seafood Chowder
Mains: Buffet style Pineapple Gammon, Roasted Leg of lamb( my favourite), Roast garlic chicken, Served with Rice, apple green salad, potato salad, buttered corn and red wine jus or option of pineapple reduction.
Dessert: a tasty attempt from my bestie at a Chocolate fondant served with vanilla ice cream. Trying my version tonight.
Did I tell you about the pool party we had after? It was so fun!
